In 1994, university student David Seeley played music as a part time job. But when his band broke up, he used the band truck to help people move around the Twin Cities. After three increasingly successful seasons, David knew it was time to take his business to the next level.

He changed the company name from Happy Movers to Local Motion, invested in more trucks, hired more staff, and set out to make his company a household name.

To date, Local Motion is the top moving company in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. We lead in technical innovation in the moving and storage industry. For two years in a row we have received honors as one of the Twin Cities top fastest growing privately held companies by The Twin Cities Business Journal.

We have been moving individuals and families throughout the Twin Cities area for over 17 years and are proud of our reputation of excellence. Our modern fleet of 24 trucks and over 100 employees make us the largest local moving company in the area. We can assist you with Moving, Storage, Packing and will even let you use Free moving boxes during your move.

Full Service Moving

Office Moving

Moving an office is great for morale, however having your employees pack and move is not. The success of your business is determined by your staff's productivity so keep them focused.

Office moving teams use specialized equipment to complete business moves with minimal downtime. Your staff will appreciate that they can focus on their work responsibility instead of yours.

In-home Moves

The in-home move will relieve you of the painful chore of doing this awkward and backbreaking work yourself.

This is the perfect service for you if you are refinishing floors, remodeling or even if you need that larger oversized item moved out of the way.

Service Includes: Certified moving team, specialized moving equipment, Gaurdian floor and home protection.

Labor Only

Don't run the risk of thinking you can efficiently load a truck or portable storage unit yourself. Any spaces that are not filled will force you to make additional trips.

If you have access to moving equipment, use our level 3 certified movers to help you load. We have an "expert eye" on how to ensure everything is loaded in one trip.

Service Includes: Certified moving team, safety straps for carrying larger items, 20 feet of floor protection.

Packing and Unpacking

Packing is not fun... it takes weeks to pack and time away from the things you enjoy. Fortunately we can pack you in a single day so you can concentrate on the details of your move.

Our professionals are experts at packing and will avoid damage to the precious items. We even bring all the boxes to get you packed, now you will have time for more important things.

Service Includes: Certified moving team and truck(s), free use of moving boxes for 60 days, free delivery of boxes and supplies, Gaurdian floor and home protection.

Portable Storage

Don't use a portable storage container that sits on your property, they are susceptible to break-ins. We bring our containers to your home and load them for you in just a few hours.

We return them to our secure, climate-controlled warehouse where your prized possessions will remain... it's like their home away from home.
